Biography
Erin (Evie) White has been a dancer since she could walk. Originally from Thornton, CO, she grew up in a small dance studio where her love for the art form blossomed. This passion took her on a journey across several states, performing in numerous shows and collaborating with a wide range of choreographers.
Professional Background
Erin has an impressive background in dance, having studied and performed with prestigious institutions such the Paul Taylor Dance Company in NYC, Colorado Ballet, and Joffrey Ballet School. Her journey also includes experiences at Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School & Camp, Koresh Dance Company, and The Allure Creative. Recently, she showcased her talent with Serena Webb Dance Theatre in Salt Lake City, UT, and continues to inspire audiences as a performer with Oquirrh Mountain Ballet, sharing her passion for dance through dynamic and expressive performances.
Educational Journey
Erin's educational journey has been as diverse as her performance career. She began her undergraduate studies at Oklahoma City University as a Dance Universal major, where she immersed herself in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Musical Theatre dance techniques, along with gaining valuable technical theatre experience.
She then transferred to the University of Wyoming, where she focused on Ballet and Modern techniques and further developed her pedagogical practices. Erin graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Dance Performance. Her time at the University of Wyoming also included hands-on experience in costume design, which laid the foundation for her current commission work.
Certifications & Advocacy
In addition to her dance career, Erin is a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst (CLMA), having graduated from Integrated Movement Studies (IMS). This certification has deepened her understanding of movement and enriched her teaching and performance practices.
Erin is also a Certified Victim Advocate through Weber State University, showcasing her commitment to supporting and empowering others both inside and outside the dance community.
Teaching
Erin is passionate about sharing her love for dance through professional and pre-professional teaching. With extensive experience in various dance styles, including a variety of Ballet levels using the ABT syllabus, Movement Fundamentals, and creative movement practices she is committed to nurturing aspiring dancers. Erin's teaching approach emphasizes skill development and creativity, inspiring her students to reach their full potential. Looking ahead, she aims to pursue her MFA and transition into teaching and choreographing at the higher education level
